Who We Are

Dr. Amy Attas and her pug Leo. Dr. Amy Attas founded CityPets in 1992. A graduate Barnard College, she attended the University of Pennsylvania where she obtained a Masters Degree in Animal Behavior, after which she received her degree from the School of Veterinary Medicine in 1987. Upon graduation, she was selected to do an internship in medicine and surgery at the prestigious Animal Medical Center in Manhattan.

After 4 years in an Upper East Side Animal Hospital, she decided to go the extra step in providing excellent care for her patients and convenience for her clients by starting a house call practice. Over 7,000 patients later, she is glad she did. She resides in Manhattan with her husband Steve, and with her adorable rescue pugs Leonardo and Winston.

Dr. Danielle Dalton joined the CityPets team in March 2004. She joined CityPets after four years of practicing veterinary medicine and surgery at a busy hospital on the Upper West Side of Manhattan and two years at an emergency veterinary practice in Staten Island. While her main focus is working with dogs and cats, she also enjoys working with exotic species of pets.

Dr. Dalton was a Licensed Veterinary Technician before attending veterinary school, and thus has been working in the veterinary field for over 13 years. She attended Veterinary School at Ross University and completed her fourth year of clinical study at Washington State University School of Veterinary Medicine. In January of 1999 she earned her D.V.M. in Veterinary Medicine and Surgery and has since been happily practicing in her hometown of New York City.

She and her husband Pete are the proud new parents of daughter Olivia who was born in December 2005. They and their two cats, Isabel and Mousina, reside on Manhattan's upper west side.

Shari King, our licensed veterinary health technician is a graduate of the Mercy College School For Animal Care. She, too, did her training at the Animal Medical Center, one of the world's greatest animal health facilities. She has worked in several small animal hospitals, university research centers and with primates in human hospital laboratories and is well-respected in her field. She has a marvelous sense of animals and has remarkable hands! In addition to helping us care for CityPets' patients, she has 3 children, 2 dogs and 2 cats.

Carida Fernandez has been nursing dogs and cats for over 15 years. She has worked at numerous animal hospitals in New York and has never met a pet she didn't like! Carida is deeply committed to her work. She cares for her 2 sons, 2 rescue dogs and a rescue cat.

George Simonoff has been helping New Yorkers with their sick cats for over 18 years. George is unique when it comes to feline pets; he has cared for many of his own infirmed, elderly rescue cats and as a result has personal experience with most all of feline problems. He is available to help with phone consultations or to visit your home or apartment to assist with diabetic cats, chronic renal failure problems, administer drugs or fluids, etc.

Ruvim Krupnikas, a professional driver for over 30 years, has been the CityPetsMobile driver for 8 years. Although you never see him, Ruvim knows you and your pets. He also knows the streets of the New York intimately and as a result gets us to your homes quickly and efficiently. After hours, he is at home with his wife and family, including his Bichon, Cookie.
