Dr. Amy Attas - Veterinarian
Dr. Amy is the founder of City Pets, a veterinary house call service for dogs and cats living, working or visiting in Manhattan. A graduate of Barnard College, she attended the University of Pennsylvania where she received both a Master’s Degree in Animal Behavior and her veterinary degree. Following her graduation in 1987, she completed an internship in medicine and surgery at the Animal Medical Center in Manhattan.
After four years in an Upper East Side Animal Hospital, in 1992 she decided to go the extra step in providing excellent veterinary care for her patients and convenience for their families by starting City Pets, which today is the premier veterinary house call practice.
Ten thousand patients later she is glad she did.
In addition to her veterinary practice, Dr. Amy serves on the Board of Overseers of the School of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania-her alma mater. She is also a Trustee of the EcoHealth Alliance -- one of the world's premier conservation organizations -- and she is an active fundraiser for the Wildlife Conservation Society. She has been an Executive Board member of the Veterinary Medical Association of the City of New York has been awarded by the VMA of NY both its annual Merit Award and its Award for Outstanding Service to Veterinary Medicine.
In her spare time she enjoys cooking, reading, hiking and traveling. She and her husband Stephen enjoy theater, opera, classical music and the New York Rangers, and when not out for the evening, they can be found at home with their two adorable rescued pugs, Winston and Cleopatra.
